Catull was successfully shown by the Japanese rider Takashi Haase in novice (A**) and elementary (L) level tests for young show jumpers in 2008 and elementary (L) and medium (M*) level tests in 2009. In 2010, at the age of seven, he had his first successes in difficult courses.

In 2011 and 2012, further victories and placings followed in show jumping competitions up to class S**.

Catull’s dam, Henrike Bo, also produced the licensed half-brother Casanova by Coriander.
