Cordess’ sons and daughters are also in the tradition of these popular genetics. They are characterised by modern type, gorgeous faces, long-leggedness and generous canter.
Under saddle and at the jump, the Cordess offspring have confirmed the high expectations: their successes already range from Bundeschampionat qualifications to the highest class. Six Cordess sons have been licensed so far, including Continent, the second reserve winner of the 2018 Westphalian licensing. More than a dozen of his offspring have already achieved international success at top level, such as Friday For Future with Maximilian Weishaupt and Casino Royal with Eduard Yusupov. With Fippoorwill, Cordess also produced the reserve champion of the DSP mare show in Munich-Riem in the 2022 season.
Cordess combines inherent performance and hereditary strength to perfection.
"Cordess is not only a true top athlete himself, but is also immortalized in his offspring, who have also already achieved success at international level."
- Birte Dicke
He is an absolute top performer: Cordess has not only already collected successes around the globe, but still stands for "pure sport" at almost 18 years of age, while his sons and daughters successfully emulate him. Under Christian Kukuk and Philipp Weishaupt, the Clinton son has already enjoyed success up to 5* level in the Global Champions Tour. In the meantime, he can look back on a whole squad of equally successful S-level offspring, including the mare Friday For Future under Max Weishaupt and Clever Boy Jun. ridden by the British rider Amy Inglis. Cordess is not only an athlete, but also a sire of international quality.
Intelligence and caution at the jump
Cordess' current riders, Robert and Saskia Conredel, are only too happy to talk about the joy of working with this special athlete on a daily basis. At the age of 18, Cordess is still collecting successes in the advanced class, proving that correctness and the will to perform pay off. It is precisely this willingness to perform that he repeatedly passes on to his offspring, together with caution at the jump, elasticity and intelligence. All sons and daughters of this type sire are also characterized by absolute modernity.
Personal contribution and inheritance combined
A glance at Cordess' pedigree may reveal parallels to Cornet Obolensky: As a son of the proven Clinton - Heartbreaker combination, Cordess' is closely related to the well-known stamp stallion, but also carries the blood of the well-known Freiminka line (Oldenburg dam line 86), from which million-dollar stallion Totilas, among others, sprang. Six licensed sons, the DSP Reserve Champion at the mare show in Munich-Riem and numerous S-successful offspring speak for Cordess' hereditary strength. Anyone who opts for this stallion is relying on the perfect combination of personal performance and hereditary power.
The Clinton I son recommends himself as a top athlete of world format, who has already inspired around the globe in the course. From international victories at 5-star level on show grounds such as Berlin, Offenburg, Nörten-Hardenberg, Kiel, Hong Kong, Monte Carlo, Paris and Estoril to starts on the Global Champions Tour such as in Shanghai, Cordess has always been able to impress under Philipp Weishaupt and Christian Kukuk. His recent successes show that Cordess not only stands for quality, but also for many years of willingness to perform and toughness: even now, at the age of 18, he is still collecting successes in advanced (S) level.
The Holstein sire Clinton was one of the world’s best show jumpers under his trainer Dirk Demeersman/BEL. In 2005 the pair had to settle for second place in the Grand Prix of Aachen. Previously, they both took fourth place at the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens/GRE and in 2003 secured victory in the Grand Prix of Lummen/BEL, second place in the Nations Cup in Aachen, third place in the World Cup show jumping competition in Mechelen/BEL and silver in the Belgian Championships.
Cordess’ dam Usminka A produced another top international show jumping horse alongside Cordess: Aminka A, once brought into the sport by Willem Greve, also collected successes up to the 1.60 meter level for the USA under Michael Desiderio.
Dam’s sire Heartbreaker was successful in World Cup competitions with Peter Geerink/NED, took fourth place in the Grand Prix of Aachen and was named “Best Stallion” in Zwolle/NED. The same applies to Burggraaf, the third-generation Holstein stallion to receive the Preferent award, who had a major influence on Dutch breeding.
Cordess’ great-granddam Usminka, who is registered as a Keur, Preferent and Prestatie mare, produced the licensed stallion Lochnagar (by Hugo) and the mare Bruminka (by Nimmerdor), out of which the licensed and internationally successful Iowa (by Achill-Libero H)/Emma Wester/SWE is sired. Great-great-granddam Viola B is a very special mare. The Farn Camillus daughter with the predicates Model, Preferent and Prestatie produced the licensed stallion Topas (by Marco Polo), the mare Zyminka (by Abgar xx), who in turn became the dam of the licensed stallion Jodokus (by Ramiro), and the mare Ominka (by Uppercut), who produced the licensed stallion Vindicator (by Amour). It is interesting to note that Jodokus and Topas are the sire and dam’s sire of the show jumping team World and European Champion, European Championship individual bronze medallist and World Cup bronze medallist Okidoki/Albert Zoer/NED, who is therefore twice bred to Viola B. The dressage wonder stallion Totilas, Dutch Dressage Champion in 2009 with a record result and European Team Champion and European Freestyle Individual Champion with a world record result, also has the mare Viola B as a great-great-granddam in his pedigree. Totilas’ great-granddam Wominka, who also produced the licensed stallion Racketeer (by Ramiro), and the Cordess great-granddam Usminka are full sisters. Both are sired by the race-tested thoroughbred Pericles xx, who holds the coveted Preferent title.
Cordess represents the original Oldenburg dam line 86/Freiminka (by Godin), from which, among others, the internationally successful show jumpers Marius/Caroline Bradley/GBR, sire of John Whitaker’s wonder gray Milton, Palermo/Johan Heins/NED, Warrant/Chris Kappler/USA, Ego/Walter Gabathuler/SUI and Limminka/Alison Firestone/USA were produced.
