Cashmere

- the crown prince

Type, interior, rideability, movement: Cashmere inherits much more than just quality at the jump. Cashmere's offspring keep their sire's promises. In a modern outfit and with a clearly recognisable double disposition, they arouse desires.

Crown prince and jack of all trades

Born at Gestüt Gut Neuenhof, raised as an orphan, celebrated as reserve champion at his licensing and now with international successes in the advanced class - after a difficult start, Cashmere has had a meteoric career. In every respect.

All-round talent in top-class sport

Cashmere left the 2017 NRW licensing as reserve winner over the poles. He completed his 14-day test in Neustadt/Dosse in 2018 with top marks for dressage and jumping ability: 8.14 and 8.43 respectively. In 2019, he passed the sport test I with a weighted final score of 8.56. His sport test II was even better: 8.71. He also confirmed these ratings in sport.

Cashmere's show career began in the dressage arena. He demonstrated his good movements and rideability in tests for young riding horses and was placed highly several times. He won his very first test for young show jumpers. A year later, he also won his first medium class show jumping test for young horses. A few weeks later, he took silver at the Bundeschampionat for five-year-old show jumpers in Warendorf with Marco Kutscher. It was also the championship rider who introduced Cashmere to international sport before the stallion moved to Bonhomme Stud, where Saskia and Robert Conredel continued his training and with whom he now collects ribbons in the advanced class.

Progenitors in the best sense

Cashmere's sire Cristallo was Gut Neuenhof Stud's first stallion. Cashmere is one of more than 60 successful S-level offspring in the show jumping ring, many of whom are successful at five-star level, e.g. Adrienne Sternlicht's World Championship mare Cristalline. Cristallo also has children who shine in the dressage arena at advanced level.

Cashmere's dam Novice by Contender is also the dam of Carento by Caretino. He in turn is the sire of our first Bundeschampion, Caressini. His full sister, Gut Neuenhof's Cantate, placed fifth at the Bundeschampionat with Henrik von Eckermann. From further matings with Cristallo, Novice produced the advanced (S) level show jumping mare Capriole and the Westphalian show jumping champion mare Cristalies, who has since proven herself in breeding as the dam of the silver medal winner at the Westphalian Championships, Gut Neuenhof's Columbo.

Novice also has two full sisters with licensed sons, not just any sons, but including the 2008 Oldenburg Champion Stallion, Le Champ Ask. He was the first riding horse stallion to be auctioned at a German stallion market for more than one million euros. The Oldenburg stallion Coco Jambo also comes from this line. Novice and her two sisters are just three of 13 foals produced by their dam. Seven of them placed in advanced (S) level.

Almost nothing needs to be said about the sires in Cashmere's impressive pedigree. Contender was already a legend during his lifetime, with 127 licensed sons and 427 S-successful offspring who fetched more than ten million euros. Behind him, the Holstein half-blood stallions Lorenz, Cor de la Bryère, Rigoletto and Attila shine, bringing blood, toughness and willingness to perform to the pedigree.

Cashmere's Holsteiner line 1094 also includes Willem Greve's (NED) Superstar Carambole and the internationally successful Quick Fire (Markus Brinkmann) as well as other licensed stallions.

Versatile inheritance

Cashmere's offspring are just starting to grow into the sport. But we see our assessment confirmed by the FN breeding value estimation 2024. For the first time, Cashmere is among the top 10 percent of sires for young horse tests. The youngest stallions in this illustrious circle were born in 2015 - like Cashmere. Only he and five other stallions have made it into the top ten, which includes almost 300 stallions. We can now say with certainty that our crown prince is passing on his all-round talents to his children. There is, for example, the Hanoverian Cashiano Fantastico out of a Cefalo dam (breeder: ZG Linden and Harz), who placed first to third in his first show jumping competitions as well as in tests for young dressage horses. Other offspring placed in the course according to their age. This year Cashmere had a one hundred percent yield at the licensing in Münster-Handorf: two sons, both licensed. And one was awarded a prize. His name: Cashmere's Carat.
