Goldberg’s offspring are the best advertisement for his hereditary power: always full of type, rideable and willing to perform, they have long since conquered the show ring. Of the 50 or so registered show horses, the most highly regarded Goldberg daughter is undoubtedly Get you the Moon, Austrian finalist at the 2022 World Championships for Young Dressage Horses under Lisa Horler. But other athletes such as Gin Tonic (Melanie Geßmann), Gorgeous Boy RV (Renate Voglsang) and HBS Golden Globe (Jil-Marielle Becks) are also making a name for themselves in the dressage arena and have already achieved success in the advanced class. As Goldberg has no red factor, the dark jacket is the trademark of his descendants. They are also strongly influenced externally by their father. Grace Of Glory, a state premium candidate, also joins Goldberg’s successful offspring, which already includes ten licensed sons.

It is the consistency of his success that makes Goldberg so special. Not only can the imposing black stallion now boast around 50 offspring registered as competition horses, all of whom have proven to be successful athletes. His oldest offspring have already achieved their first successes in the advanced class, including Gorgeous Boy RV, ridden by Renate Voglsang, Gin Tonic, presented by Melanie Geßmann, and HBS Golden Globe, ridden by Jil-Marielle Becks. Grace Of Glory, a state premium candidate, also joined Goldberg's successful offspring, which now includes ten licensed sons. But her father himself also impresses with his own outstanding performance.
Champion lesson horse with current successes
Goldberg had already carried Anna Schölermann to the bronze medal at the Westphalian Young Rider Championships in 2022 - and in 2023 he also demonstrated his qualities as a junior horse par excellence. Under Sophie Luisa Duen, who had only recently stopped riding ponies, Goldberg secured several victories at medium (M) level. The pair finally crowned their joint run of success with the title of Westphalian Junior Champion 2023. And the strong-moving stallion also impressed in the heaviest class. With Danica Duen he confidently won a St. Georg Spécial and thus gave his rider a very special present: the last victory still required for her Golden Riding Badge.
Outstanding riding horse qualities
Goldberg effortlessly combines the best qualities as an athlete, trainer and sire. His sons and daughters reliably inherit him in terms of strong nerves, eagerness to work and spatial grip - and because their father is a purebred dark horse, they are all characterized by the coveted dark jacket. They are all characterized by excellent riding horse qualities. You can rely on Goldberg.
Goldberg's career as a stallion has been like something out of a picture book, and it began at a tender foal age: in 2011 Goldberg was the top foal at the Dutch foal auction in Dronten and in 2013 a celebrated star at the Westphalian licensing in Münster-Handorf, which he left as second reserve winner. His performances under saddle were accompanied by high expectations from the outset: he completed the 30-day test in Neustadt (Dosse) with a final score of 8.52, with individual scores of up to 9.25. Following victories in tests for young riding and dressage horses, he is now a multiple advanced (S) level winner under Hubertus Schmidt and made his international debut at shows such as Hagen, Munich-Riem and Balve in 2019. In Verden, the pair won the Prix St. Georges Spécial with 73.97 percent.
In 2022, Goldberg was made available to Hubertus Schmidt's 21-year-old apprentice, Anna Schölermann, who collected victories up to advanced (S) level and a bronze medal at the Westphalian Young Rider Championships. He continued this career as a sports partner to a talented youngster in the 2023 season. As a junior horse, he was made available to 16-year-old Sophie Luisa Duen, herself already a junior European Championship reserve in the pony squad. With her, Goldberg secured several victories at medium (M) level and carried his rider to the title of Westphalian Junior Champion 2023. He won a St. Georg Spécial with Danica Duen.
The sire Amazing Star, internationally successful up to Grand Prix for Japan under Takayoshi Makino, is bred in an outstanding way through the heroic sires Flemmingh, Ferro and Donnerhall, all of whom have played an important role in international dressage.
The dam, elite mare Whoopy Goldberg, who was successful in sport herself, produced Coco Chanel, who won up to Intermédiaire I level.
The black dam’s sire San Remo brings in the very best blood from Hanover and Oldenburg via Wolkentanz I and Volturno, guarantors for rideability and performance. Proven jumper sires like Akteur and Lucky Boy xx in the back generations are indicators for power and motor. Goldberg represents the “NL-merrielijn 166”.
This mare line mainly produces horses with dressage talent up to advanced level.
