As Etienne was first used for breeding in 2023, we are currently expecting his first crop.
"Etienne is an artist of movement and a modern, highly elastic sire. What is particularly striking is not only his successful family, but above all his outstanding rideability."
- Sandra Schürner
There are horses that simply give pleasure. Etienne is just such a horse: Always uncomplicated and charming, always willing to learn and rideable - this stallion is a pleasure to ride. The past season proved that he also has everything he needs to take over the sporting legacy of his father Escolar. In the sport test in Verden he received a weighted final score of 8.55, including individual scores such as 8.7 for trot, 8.8 for canter and a 9.0 for rideability. He crowned his first start at advanced (A) level dressage horses with an immediate victory. Etienne knows how to inspire.
Natural balance and uphill tendency
Under saddle, this young stallion is always full of type, relaxed, with spectacular scope and uphill tendencies. It is long-legged and impresses with outstanding shoulder freedom and an active hind leg. The natural balance and cadence are particularly impressive. Etienne was born with the talent.
The heir to the Escolar
Hardly any other stallion is currently causing as much of a stir as Etienne's sire Escolar. But the dam line of this youngster also deserves special attention. Dam's sire Sir Donnerhall I wrote breeding history and not only produced more than 100 licensed sons, but also over 60 offspring at Grand Prix level. Etienne's prominent full brother is none other than Eternity: Bundeschampion, Danish Vice-Champion and bronze medal winner at the World Championships for Young Dressage Horses. Laurentianer is the third generation to join the ranks. The Westphalian stallion was himself successful up to advanced level and was world champion for young dressage horses at the age of six. Blood spoiled by success, the best interior and a talent for movement that makes you dream: Etienne follows in the tradition of his highly popular father.
Etienne convinces with typey modernity and best rideability values. In 2022 Etienne passed a very good disposition test in Warendorf and was subsequently licensed on site. Ridden by Lisa Horler, he won a test for young riding horses in his first show season, impressively underlining his special quality. He was awarded the dream score of 9.0 four times. Etienne passed his sport test for 4-year-old stallions in March 2023 with a final score of 8.55 as the second best in the test lot. His individual scores also included an 8.7 for trot, 8.8 for canter and a 9.0 for rideability. He crowned his first start at advanced (A) level dressage horses with an immediate victory.
Etienne’s sire Escolar once again leads the current breeding value assessment for dressage competitions with a breeding index of 177 points. His offspring dominate dressage arenas around the globe. Escolar already has more than 50 licensed sons and just as many state premium mares – and that is by no means all: Escolar offspring are now attracting worldwide interest and achieving success up to the highest level. The four-year-old Especially became Bavarian State Champion; Endorphin was crowned Vice Federal Champion of four-year-old riding horse stallions. Elastic won the bronze medal at the World Championships for Young Dressage Horses. Mein Ganzes Herz was named Champion Mare Dressage of the Holstein Verband. And the “Escolars” also proved their class in the large arena: Etro, just nine years old, won team gold and individual bronze under Anush Agarwalla at the Asian Games in China; Espe carried the British rider Annabella Pidgley to individual gold and team bronze at the European Young Riders Championships. Three Escolar offspring qualified for the final of the prestigious Nuremberg Burg Cup in Frankfurt: Escamillo, Escolux and Escalito.
Dam’s sire Sir Donnerhall I has written breeding history and not only looks back on more than 100 licensed sons, but also on 59 offspring at Grand Prix level.
Etienne’s dam Saphira was victorious in tests for young riding horses and produced one of the most talked about young horses in the advanced tour with Eternity. Grandmother Laureen, herself successful in dressage and eventing up to class. L, produced three successful offspring.
Hann. Stamm 608, he produced among others the licensed stallions Derbyfavorit, Der Clou, Lord Lazuli T, Return T, Weinberg. The dam line produced, among others, the dressage elites Dablino/Anabel Balkenhol, Famos/ W. Biedermann, Wie Weltmeyer/ Emma Hindle (GBR) as well as the internationally successful Au Revoir 3/Heinrich-Hermann Engemann, Jeroen Dubbeldam (NL), Willi Melliger (SUI).
