The stallion station Gut Neuenhof is in close contact with breeders. Sandra and Dr. Axel Schürner, owners of the stallion station, have been breeding dressage and show jumping horses themselves for decades and are aware of the difficulties and challenges faced by breeders today. That is why the stallion station wants to set an example and will be offering its trademark stallion Escolar at even better conditions in future.
Previously, the insemination rate for fresh semen from the sire Escolar was 800.00 euros, with an additional 1200.00 euros for the mare’s pregnancy. In future, however, the stud fee will be divided differently: For insemination, only 400.00 euros will be due, while the pregnancy rate will be increased to 1600.00 euros. This is intended to minimize the risk for breeders – because if there is no pregnancy, the costs also remain low. “In this way, we want to show that we care about our breeders, who we often accompany for years,” says Sandra Schürner. “In a way, we are doing even more in advance. As a stallion station, we have to work together with our breeders and create the best possible conditions.”
Escolar is currently one of the best-known and most popular dressage sires in the world; his offspring are successful all over the world, from national championships to the big dressage arena. The stallion himself was part of the Olympic squad under Hubertus Schmidt during his active sporting career.
