MÜNSTER. A gallop straight out of a picture book – and a young stallion who shone with his uncomplicated character: the three-year-old Escolar son Estoril won the Westphalian coat of arms competition at the Tournament of Champions.
Estoril, the typey stallion presented by Juliane Berlet at Münster’s Schlossplatz last week, is only three years old. The Escolar son out of a dam by Sir Donnerhall I was presented as part of the Westfalen Wappen, a test for three-year-old riding horses.
The handsome bay knew how to convince in all three gaits. Highly concentrated despite the impressive backdrop, Estoril showed himself to be an impressive young talent. The judges awarded him an 8.0 for walk, trot, permeability and overall impression, and a 9.0 for canter.
Estoril thus won the Westphalian coat of arms under his trainer Juliane Berlet. A stallion to keep an eye on.
