WARENDORF. E for Escolar – E for Ermelo: Almost every fourth horse presented at this year’s second inspection in Warendorf for the World Breeding Dressage Championships for Young Horses was a direct descendant or grandson of the trademark stallion Escolar. Escamillo, son of Escolar out of a Rohdiamant dam, was particularly prominent as a sire.

On 12. and 13 August, the young dressage horses presented themselves in Warendorf for the second selection for the World Championships in Ermelo, the Netherlands. Escolar had already dominated the first inspection as one of the most prominent sires represented. Particularly striking: Escolar is one of the stallions most frequently found in the pedigrees of the horses being sighted and also the one with the most German bloodlines. The Estobar NRW-Fürst Piccolo son thus holds the flags of German breeding high, while many pedigrees are dominated by Dutch bloodlines.

Three direct Escolar offspring have been nominated for the start in Ermelo: Elliott the Dancer (rider: Stefan Wolff), Elastic (rider: Maxi-Kira von Platen) and Enrico de Hus (rider: Jennifer Stein), while Glock’s Energy (rider: Ruben Mengal Reig), an Escamillo offspring, has also been recommended as a reserve.

The World Championships for Young Dressage Horses will take place from September 4-8 in Ermelo, the Netherlands.
