There is hardly a championship in the world where Escolar’s offspring do not excel. This stallion sets new standards year after year with the successes of his sons and daughters. In the meantime, more than 50 sons have been licensed, including several premium stallions, reserve and champion stallions. Over 50 daughters have since been awarded the State Premium and have passed outstanding mare performance tests, including St.Pr.St. Evelyn, who completed one of the best performance tests in Germany in 2022 with an overall score of 8.97.
The son Eternity was state and national champion in 2017, placed finalist again in Warendorf in 2018, Danish vice-champion and World Championship bronze medalist in 2021 and achieved numerous victories in the advanced class in 2022. Escamillo is also continuing in the fast lane and, after winning the title of Vice World Champion for 6-year-old dressage horses in 2021, took bronze at the World Championships for 7-year-olds the following year. The 2018 Westphalian Championships were real “Escolar festivals”. 10 of his offspring finished in the medal ranks, including the champions Escorial Q, Embrace and Estero. Emilio became champion of the three-year-old stallions in Baden-Württemberg. In 2019, Enrico was Westphalian Champion under Lukas Fischer, Escorial Q was Bundeschampion of three-year-old riding horses with Bianca Nowag and Estero came fourth in the Bundeschampionat for five-year-old dressage horses under Beatrice Buchwald.
In 2020, 16 offspring qualified for the Bundeschampionat. In 2022, Escolar produced the largest contingent of all stallions in Germany with 19 offspring, including the Vice Bundeschampion of 3-year-old stallions, Elastic NRW. In England, High Hopes Estelle won the 2021 championships for 5-year-old dressage horses, and in 2022 MSJ Encore, ridden by Michael Eilberg, won the British dressage championships for seven-year-olds. Especially was crowned Bavarian State Champion of three-year-olds in 2022.
In 2023, the four-year-old Especially became Bavarian State Champion; Endorphin was Vice Federal Champion of four-year-old riding horse stallions. Elastic took bronze at the World Championships for Young Dressage Horses. The mare Mein Ganzes Herz was awarded the Holstein Verband Dressage Champion. At the same time, the nine-year-old Etro won team gold and individual bronze in the “big square” under Anush Agarwalla at the Asian Games in China. Espe, once already successful under Eva Möller at the World Championships for Young Dressage Horses, carried the British rider Annabella Pidgley to the individual gold medal and team bronze at the European Championships for Young Riders. Three Escolar offspring qualified for the final of the prestigious Nuremberg Burg Cup in Frankfurt: Escamillo, Escolux and Escalito.
Escolar has been setting top prices at German auctions year after year since 2020, such as last year when Escalerio MO became the top price at the 66th Westphalian Online Foal Auction.
"Just a few years ago, Escolar himself was part of the Olympic squad. He gives his offspring exactly the impressive uphill tendency, carrying power, enormous impulsion and striking strength of movement that have always characterized him in the arena."
- Sandra Schürner
The triumphal march of the stamp stallion Escolar remains unbroken. At less than 15 years of age, Escolar has already produced a whole dynasty of successful dressage horses that have won acclaim all over the world. Escolar has once again made the E-blood, which has stood for unshakeable performance for generations, the figurehead of elite sport and currently dominates modern horse breeding like few other sires. Whether at licensing, mare shows, remount tests or the big arena: Escolar's offspring impress everywhere with their incomparable quality. Escolar once again crowns this superiority with the current breeding value statistics: Once again, he leads the statistics with 177 points - and thus a clear gap to the ranks.
Escolar offspring: Simply the Best
Escolar already has more than 50 licensed sons, numerous licensed grandsons and countless state premium mares among his offspring. Escolar offspring were once again represented in all age groups at the championships in 2023. Endorphin was crowned Vice-Bundeschampion of the four-year-old riding horse stallions; Elastic won the bronze medal at the World Championships for Young Dressage Horses. Mein Ganzes Herz was named Champion Mare Dressage of the Holstein Verband. The nine-year-old Etro won team gold and individual bronze at the Asian Games in China under Anush Agarwalla; Espe carried the British rider Annabella Pidgley to individual gold and team bronze at the European Young Rider Championships and three Escolar offspring qualified for the final of the prestigious Nuremberg Burg Cup in Frankfurt: Escamillo, Escolux and Escalito. The youngsters also caused a sensation: Six sons were approved for the licensing in Vechta and Münster-Handorf and Escalerio MO advanced to the top price at the 66th Westphalian Online Foal Auction.
Stallion in demand worldwide
Escolar's sons and daughters are the living document of his exceptional quality as an athlete and sire. In combination with a wide variety of mother lines, the overall quality of the breed always prevails. His offspring are always harmonious riding horses with outstanding talent in all three basic gaits, extreme thrust, plenty of drive and unmistakable dynamics. It is a privilege to experience Escolar and to accompany his development into a stamp stallion in demand worldwide. Year after year, this stallion trumps his hereditary performance time and time again. Escolar is and remains in a class of its own.
Master pupil, high-flyer, high-flyer: The superlatives for this exceptional stallion could be continued at will. In terms of breeding and sport, Escolar is on his way to the top of the world: For years, Escolar has been the leader in the FN dressage breeding evaluation, and this top position is mirrored by his own and offspring's successes.
Escolar was Bundeschampion of Stallions in 2012 and 2013 with Hermann Burger, second in the Nuremberg Burgpokal in 2017 under Hubertus Schmidt and fourth in the Louisdor Prize in the Frankfurt Festhalle in 2018. In 2019 he was victorious in both the Grand Prix and the Grand Prix Special. He was called up to the Olympic squad by the DOKR and received the "Otto-Lörke Prize" in Stuttgart as the best German Grand Prix young horse. And also in spring 2022 the renewed appointment to the Olympic squad followed.
Due to the unfortunate injury to his rider Hubertus Schmidt, no further starts followed.
The sire Estobar NRW has the role of the “Lord’s Seal Keeper” of all the best NRW genetics. It is not without reason that he won his licensing, was successful up to Grand Prix and is considered a highly proven sire.
The dam Farah Dina L produced another licensed full brother to Escolar, Escorial/Hubertus Schmidt, who won up to Grand Prix, as well as the full sister St. Pr. St. Edina and the full brother Ebonito, who was also successful at advanced level. The dam’s sire Fürst Piccolo was premium stallion at the NRW Main Licensing in 1999 and won the stallion performance test in Warendorf in 2000 and was promoted to advanced level. Fürst Piccolo is one of the most proven sires of the NRW breed and several times placed top priced mares at the NRW Elite Auction and final ring mares at the Rhineland and Westphalian Elite Mare Shows. The Dutch stallion Sion in the third generation advanced to a sire of rare versatility at the Oldenburg station Bührmann (Döhlen). His often very noble children have become established stars in dressage, show jumping and eventing. Sion became 30 years old. Figaro and Vollkorn xx are heroes of the Oldenburg breed in the following generations.
Escolar represents the Oldenburg mare line 17/Bastiane (by Ellenberg-Robert-August-Emigrant-Agamemnon), which produced nine licensed stallions, including Goldglanz (USA), Pharis (PB Thür.) and Urgast (PB Oldbg.), as well as the internationally successful dressage horse Tansanit/Christine Stückelberger (SUI) and the also internationally successful show jumper Galaktica/Grégoire Oberson (SUI). This mare family can be traced back to the 19th century.
