Of the almost 3000 stallions that were last used for breeding according to the most recent FN annual report, the Oldenburg Verband awarded the title “Elite Stallion” to just ten dressage sires. As of this year, Escolar is one of them. You could see why not least in the last few days at the KWPN licensing.
The Oldenburg Verband awards the title of “Elite Stallion” based on facts: the FN breeding value assessment, the linear descriptions of the offspring, the proportion of children who are successful in the highest classes in sport. Escolar is now on a par with other line founders and maintainers such as Millennium, Totilas and Vitalis.
As if to underline his status, Escolar presented the reserve champion named Everglow Gold at the – strictly selected – KWPN licensing in 2025. This is an Oldenburg out of a Sir Donnerhall dam, who in turn is a direct daughter of the Olympic team champion, European champion and three-time World Cup winner Weihegold. Christine Arns-Krogmann from Lohne has once again ensured that the world-famous Weissena line is preserved with her decision to breed Escolar.
The latest representative of this line with a breeding license is a beautiful chestnut with a lighter longhair. He attracted everyone’s attention right from the pre-selection stage. The licensing committee headed by chairman Bart Bax certified the celebrated reserve winner: “Everglow Gold is a powerfully built stallion who always moves well with raised withers, is light on his feet and canters with great suppleness and ease.”
We congratulate the breeder, Christine Arns-Krogmann, as well as the owners, Saskia Poel and Karel Gerrits, and wish them much joy and success in the future with this great offspring of our Escolar!
